Welcome

Welcome to my Brit Lit 213 Blog: Daphne du Maurier: Queen of Gothic Literature. I choose du Maurier as the author I wanted to study this semester because I am enamoured of her work. I first read Rebecca a few years ago and was blown away by the air of mystery that surrounded the main characters. Since that time, I have also read Jamaica Inn and My Cousin Rachel. Both were fantastic, and made me realize I wanted to learn more about the author herself: Dame Daphne du Maurier.

Included in this blog is her biography, her bibliography, a short selection of her writing, some photos of the author, and even a video of a few scenes of Rebecca. Let us begin our journey with one of the greatest opening lines in the history of Literature: "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderly again......"
